About the Discover Credit Card.
Discover Card is a credit card brand, which was first introduced by Sears in 1985. Its cards are primarily issued to customers in the United States, but Discover became the most widely accepted credit card in the world in 2015, largely as a result of a business agreement with the China UnionPay financial services company.
Today, Discover Card’s parent company is Discover Financial Services Inc. and it is believed that more than 40 million customers currently possess a Discover Credit Card. Advantages of the card over rival products include no annual charges, relatively high credit limits, cash back bonuses and other similar rewards.
How Do I Log In to My Discover Card Account?
The Discover Card login process is fairly simple and can be carried out by visiting the main Discover homepage. From there, you should see the login box, where you will need to enter your User ID and your password. You should also select ‘Credit Card’ from the drop down menu, before clicking the ‘Log In’ button.
You must be an existing customer to log in and you must also have registered your Discover account online. Users who have not yet registered an account can do so by clicking here and following the on-screen instructions.
How Do I Reset My Discover Card Password?
If you have forgotten the password for your Discover Card account, or find yourself locked out of your account for any other reason, it may be necessary to reset your password and this can be carried out from the Discover Credit Card login page. To do this, click on the link labelled ‘Forgot User ID/Password’, then select ‘Forgot Password’.
You will be asked to enter personal details and card information, in order to verify that you are the account holder. From there, simply follow the instructions to complete the password reset process. Once your password has been reset, you should be able to regain access to your account and change your password to a more memorable one.
Please note that the temporary password sent to you during the password reset procedure will only be valid for a period of 72 hours, so you need to set a new password within that time period. If you are unable to provide your card details for any reason, but need to reset your password, you can do so by calling 1-800-347-2683.
How Do I Apply For a Discover Credit Card?
If you do not currently have a Discover Card, you can find out more information about the various options available and apply for a card by clicking here and following the instructions. When applying, you will be able to select the specific card you wish to apply for, as well as the card design you want and many other options.
During the application process, you will need to enter your personal information, such as your name, address and date of birth, but you will also need to provide your social security number and information about your income. For this reason, it is best to have this information ready before you begin your Discover Card application.
Depending on your individual circumstances, acceptance may be instantaneous, or could take several weeks. You can also check if you are pre-approved by clicking here and filling out the credit card pre-approval form.
I Cannot Log In to Discover, What Could the Problem Be?
Occasionally, users may encounter Discover Card login issues, but there is usually a simple explanation and an easy solution. Therefore, the biggest challenge is identifying the cause of the problem. The first thing to check is that you are definitely entering the right User ID and password combination.
Pay careful attention as you type your login details in and remember that your password is case sensitive, so double check that CAPS LOCK is switched off. If you have forgotten either your User ID or password, use the Forgot ‘User ID/Password’ link and follow the instructions provided. Forgotten passwords can be reset, while card holders who forget their User ID will be able to log in with their 16-digit account number instead.
If you are sure you are entering the correct information, try clearing your cache and cookies, and restarting your web browser, before trying again. If that does not work, make sure you are using an up-to-date web browser and update it if this is not the case. Alternatively, you could try signing in using a different computer or device.
For security purposes, the website places a limit on the number of unsuccessful login attempts that can occur in a single day. If you reach this limit, you will see a message stating: “You have exceeded the maximum number of unsuccessful sign-in attempts”. When this occurs, you will need to wait until the following day to try again.
For users who continue to experience problems, it is best to get in touch with the customer service department.
How Can I Contact the Discover Card Customer Service Department?
